Through musical lyrics or common speech, it is repeated numerous times. Before a toast or a regretable act, it is uttered. Following a large unsuccessful gamble, it is relied upon once again. It is the motivation for some actions, and it is the justification for other actions. For some unknown reason, the phrase has become a staple for American actions. "You only live once." The irony of the situation is that you do not only live once. Instead, you only die once. This statement will occassionally present the person will the opportunity to achieve this certainty. The phrase that is most correct is "The only certain thing in life is death." Life is never guaranteed and never certain. Defining life in the biological meaning of the word would allow you to only live once, but moments are when we truly live. The moments in which we are impacting society, developing intellectually, feeling love, and understanding the meaning or purpose of life. Life is only lived once for the one dimensional individual, but to the rest of us who thrive on living to the fullest degree, we only die once. We live a million times in unique situations that define us.
Dream, think, love, and LIVE.
Blogging Fusion Blog Directory

Chances

People are granted many chances in life. Some of the risks are rewarding, while others are devastating. Life is about taking the risk to dive into the abyss. It is about taking the chance to seek greater opportunity. Many people are given the chance to make a difference on the life of an individual. Some people relish this opportunity, but others let the opportunity fade away. When life gives you a chance, it is not about being afraid of the risk. It is plunging into the unknown seeking the reward.
Blogging Fusion Blog Directory

The Band-Aid

Pain is a biological response, but many of the deepest pains are within the soul. A cut on the finger does not cut as deep as a cut on the heart. Physical pain is simple to fix. The inventor of the Band-Aid may have constructed the most popular bandage in the world. Emotional pain causes much deeper wounds. It is never as simple as finding the Band-Aid to put over the open wound, or is it? The best way to cure an emotional wound is with a "Band-Aid." Each wound, whether emotional or physical, is fixed with the same method. Unfortunately, the emotional wound requires a more extensive search than the medicine cabinet. An emotional wound heals with alternative methods. Occasionally, this method consists of consulting with a friend. Expressing inner emotion and pain to other people can provide extremely beneficial. Sometimes, people cannot make it alone. People require a "Band-Aid" to fix their emotional wound. It takes time, patience, and the use of this "Band-Aid" to heal.
Blogging Fusion Blog Directory

Death (hopefully not soon for anyone reading this)

At some point, we all die. The perception of right and wrong is often the topic of most debate. It is difficult for someone to properly tell someone else what to do. For us as the followers of Christ, the Bible is the moral guideline that directs us in the right path. Every person has fault in their life, and following the moral guidelines laid out in the Bible are often difficult to follow. Typical human temptation and curiosity causes many people to slide away. It is difficult to be able to to do the right thing when everything seems like more "fun." Fun is a perception that is seen through the eyes of others. You can find "fun" in everyday activities that do not cause rifts in integrity.
Blogging Fusion Blog Directory

Forgiveness

People contemplate the most difficult act in the world. Some may say jumping the Grand Canyon, some may say running a mile under 4 minutes, some may say swimming the English Channel, but one of the most difficult acts in life is forgiveness. Forgiveness is always sought, but not always granted. Delving into your inner heart, sometimes yields no forgiveness. It is easy to love someone, it is easier to hate someone, but it is never easy to forgive someone. The most difficult part of forgiveness is the inability to weigh out the benefits of forgiveness with the consequences of no forgiveness. There is no act that can be committed that should be unforgivable. Forgiveness is one of the greatest gifts to give or receive from anyone. The hardest concept to grasp is that everyone is human. Everyone has feelings that can be broken. Everyone needs forgiveness.
Blogging Fusion Blog Directory

Change

"Be the change you wish to see in the world" Gandhi
The world is a complicated mess. Genocide, infanticide, insecticide and all of these others exist. Changing the world is always necessary, sometimes successful, but never easy. The best way to change the world is change yourself. No matter what you think of yourself, people may think very highly of you. People always look for inspiration amongst others. The positive change in ourselves could change the lives of hundreds, thousands, millions. The easiest thing in the world is to never change. Its easy to ignore everything and go about our days mindlessly. It takes the courage and the strength to stand up and change. The courage to do the right thing is in all of us. Its trapped waiting to be released. You just have to open it up, and change for the better. The biggest enemy of change is doubt and fear. Doubt that you cannot ever change and fear of what it is like when things are changed. Step up, reach out and find that inspiration to change. Change for your sister, for your brother, for your parents, but mostly change for yourself. Maybe one person will read this and find the desire to change. If I can effectively reach one person, success will be achieved.

Blogging Fusion Blog Directory

Boom Diggity

Boom Diggity
Blogging Fusion Blog Directory

Science vs Religion

Science is by many argued as the only way of explaining certain phenomena, but others often use religion to explain every phenomena, but why not both? How long is a day to God? One day to God could be one day, one year, one million years to us. It takes a lot to realize this simple fact. God's will is the ultimate decider. Realistically, I would like that very much, but what you do, is your own business. The truth of the situation is simple. Church is awesome... Nothing is quite better than devoting one hour of your life to Jesus Christ, but why only one hour? How many of us are busy? All of us are incredibly busy, but are we too busy for the Lord? Are you too busy to see your friends? Too busy to see you family? God has created the universe. Jesus Christ died so that we could go to Heaven. The least that I can do is devote an hour of my life to him, but I want more. I want to devote at least a quarter of my free time to Jesus Christ. Does this mean that I'm in church everyday? No... I love going to Church everyday, but realistically. I can use the other time reading the Bible or writing. What has God/Jesus Christ/Holy Spirit done for me? Well, what have I done for God?
Blogging Fusion Blog Directory

Believe in the Power of Christ

"And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it." Matthew 16:18

Upon this rock, I build this church and it will never fail. The power of Christ and the Church will never falter. I personally believe in one church. One universal church. I wish we were no longer, Catholics, Protestants, Orthodox, but instead Christians who all followed the same church. The concept behind one church can be derived from this passage as Jesus built his Church through Peter. There are four marks of the Church established by Jesus Christ. These include unity, sanctity, catholicism, and apostolicity. This is often stated through the Nicene Creed as "one holy catholic and apostolic.

"I have other sheep 7 that do not belong to this fold. These also I must lead, and they will hear my voice, and there will be one flock, one shepherd." John 10:16

This is Jesus defining one. One God, one church. Just as the sheep need one Shepard there is to be one church.

The words of Christ

Blogging Fusion Blog Directory

5000

5000 is a decently small number, but if I receive 5,000 hits to my blog between now and October 31st, I will write a book.
Blogging Fusion Blog Directory

Trust in God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit (The Holy Trinity)

"When I came to you, brothers and sisters,
This teaches a great lesson as the missal always does. The teaching of men cannot truly display the power of God. Trust not what a man may teach you, but trust in the word of God, the truth. People should always trust other people, but when people fail them as that happens many times, do not lose trust. Trust in the person may be lost, but you can still have faith in God. When all has left you, God still remains. No one truly ever walks alone, as God always is there, Jesus is always there, the Holy Spirit is always there. Despite the circumstances, the Holy Trinity is always there for every person. Abandoned by your friends, abandoned by your family, NEVER abandoned by the Holy Trinity
Blogging Fusion Blog Directory

The Path to Truth

A struggle, a fight for the truth, has finally come to an end for me. Change it, but it's not that easy. You can't simply change the past. It is in the past; therefore unchangeable. The past teaches lessons that many of us can easily learn from. The greatest gift that the past gives us is the ability to know what to do in the future. The past is the past. There is nothing that anyone can do to fix the past now. Ignorance for me is equivalent to seeing with blinders on. You can see solely in front of you, but nothing to the left or right. You only are able to see the path that you travel because it is the right path. No reason to consider the other options in life. Religion sadly will bring about ignorance in many different paths. Christianity is composed of numerous denominations each with separate interpretations of the Holy Bible. Each denomination in their own mind is "right." This is a great amount of faith that is respected by many. A person should follow their heart in their own personal beliefs and be willing to fight for their beliefs until the end. If you are not 100% sure that your faith is the correct one, then you do not have faith. The point in which this line is crossed is when another religion is deemed insignificant or "wrong." One issue that remains with many different denominations in Christianity is failure to accept the different denominations. Tolerance is often asked from religious ministers, but it is often misused. Toleration of those different from ourselves is an important quality. Tolerance of those different from us whether it be Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, etc. But the problem isn't just with other religions completely, but it also exists within on our own religion. Religious tolerance is hardly an issue that exists with just other religions, but it happens too often amongst each other. Brothers and Sisters of Christ are hardly brothers and sisters of Christ. People constantly will criticize Christianity for the lack of unity that it brings about. Catholic, Protestant, Anglican, Orthodox, or any other type we are all Brothers and Sisters of Christ. I despise hearing the negatives about certain religions just when mentioning their name in general conversation. A common problem amongst Protestants is mentioning Catholicism. Catholic to some Protestants puts a sour taste in their mouth. Negativity immediately follows with the comment. I am here to say that if you criticize another person's beliefs, then you are weak. Nothing quite disgusts me more than to hear the negativity of those who are quick to bash the Catholic church for issues that they are uncertain. Most people that will bash the Church have limited to no knowledge of the different ideals or concepts that exist within the Church. It is different; therefore it is wrong. This is all ignorance. Ignorance in many different ways. Accept those who are different from you and we can all live together.
Blogging Fusion Blog Directory

Rewarding the faithful

Happy those who do not follow the counsel of the wicked, Nor go the way of sinners, nor sit in company with scoffers.

Rather, the law of the LORD is their joy; God's law they study day and night.

They are like a tree planted near streams of water, that yields its fruit in season; Its leaves never wither; whatever they do prospers.

But not the wicked! Psalms starts out with this simple verse to explain the proper path for each of us to travel. It is not something as simple as just saying that you should do well. This is not what the verse is telling us. It is directly telling us to live Godly lives. We all should be good people. This is remotely what the passage is describing for us. Live good lives in order to prosper in life. This is the underlying message as it can be interpreted. It is more simply telling us to trust in the Lord and live Godly lives. There is no pleasure attained from wicked endeavors, but instead from the pleasures of serving our Lord to the fullest. The easiest thing in life is to not live a Christian life, but instead to indulge in other worldly pleasures. Seek those which will temporarily make us happy, when in reality the relationship with the Lord should be enough to allow us to live as content as we can. God rewards his followers. So yes, you hardly have to go to church every Sunday, but church every Sunday is showing the respect that you may have for God. One simple act of worship that can easily be attained despite the circumstances. God rewards his followers as his followers will flourish like the tree planted near the spring whose fruit will be plentiful. A follower of the Lord will have plentiful fruit meaning that there will be many blessings bestowed to him or her from the Lord.

Neither shall you allege the example of the many as an excuse for doing wrong, nor shall you, when testifying in a lawsuit, side with the many in perverting justice.

~Exodus 23:2

You should not follow a crowd to engage in inappropriate activity. The easiest thing for a fish to do is swim downstream where the current flows with them. Following the other fish to the great unknown, but the most difficult and sometimes rewarding choice is to swim alone and away from all of the other streams. Follow God which is sometimes the more difficult path, and you can become happier as God rewards those who are faithful to him. Chose your friends wisely and follow in the ways of God always.

Try to learn what is pleasing to the Lord.

Take no part in the fruitless works of darkness; rather expose them,

for it is shameful even to mention the things done by them in secret;

but everything exposed by the light becomes visible,

for everything that becomes visible is light

~Ephesians 5:10-14

Blogging Fusion Blog Directory

Saint Paul the Apostle

The inspiring story of Saint Paul the Apostle:
Saint Paul the Apostle was born in Modern day Turkey under the name of Saul. Saul was a constant persecuter of the Church. Saul witnessed the matrydom of Saint Steven who was one of the first to preach the teachings of Jesus. Saul was hardly a man that would be highly regarded as a man of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Saul was basically a typical person in the world. A person who saw this new religion as a plague amongst society. A plague that should be stopped as soon as possible. Saul found no problem in persecuting early Christians. Damascus began to develop a Christian community which Saul set to destroy. Eliminating this community would be a great fall to Christianity. On the way to Damascus, Saul was nearly blinded by a light and heard the voice of Christ say "Saul, Saul why persecutist thou me?" Those following with Saul also saw the nearly blinding light and were terrified. Upon entering Damascus, Saul became baptised into the Christian church. Leaving behind his old life, Saul decided to leave behind his old name of Saul for the name of Paul. Paul returned to Jerusalem to preach the word of Jesus Christ our Lord. He preached to the many people getting himself into hot water many times. Paul would go on to preach to many different people in many different countries. Paul began to spread the word of Jesus Christ more than any other person had achieved. Paul was imprisoned in Rome and still managed to preach the gospel. Some of the books of the Holy Bible were actually written from prison from Paul. Paul died in Rome most likely from matrydom. Romans, First Corinithians, Second Corinithians, Galatians, Philippians, First Thessalonians, Philemon, and Hebrews are all from Saint Paul.
Why the story of Saint Paul? Uplifting? yes. Inspiring? yes. But why is the story of Saint Paul really so important? How can the story of Saint Paul teach us to be better Christians? Saint Paul was easily the example of a person highly against Christianity. He would stop at nothing to crush Christianity as the plague upon Earth that it was. He had every intention to do so, but he did not. Christianity easily could have fallen had Saint Paul not helped the cause. Saint Paul spread the Gospel and went from persecutor to persecuted. A cause that he so strongly disagreed with was ultimately a cause he died for. The story of Saint Paul teaches us one simple thing, forgiveness. God was able to forgive the sins that Saint Paul had committed. Saint Paul allowed God to use him in the way that God wanted. Saint Paul trusted in God and carried out his mission. We have a forgiving God who can use us in any way possible if only we learn to trust him.
Blogging Fusion Blog Directory

The Great Puzzle Maker

As I walked towards the room, my eyes became fixed on thousands of pieces of cardboard. Simple cardboard that had been scattered around the room in numerous different locations. A great mess upon the floor that could hardly be imagined. A great mess or a masterpiece awaiting construction? The eyes of the beholder contain only the true answer. The little pieces of cardboard in front of us remain to be hideous when spread out all apart on the floor. A disaster in fact.
We must put the puzzle together in order to create the beauty that it was meant to contain. God is a puzzle maker. God creates the pieces of the puzzle and lays them in front of us for those who trust him.

"But he who obeys me dwells in security, in peace, without fear of harm." Proverbs 1:33

God creates the opportunity for our puzzle of life to be a masterpiece if only we can trust in his judgement and follow the plan. God cannot easily fit the pieces of the puzzle together by himself. It takes the commitment and trust of his followers.

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, on your own intelligence rely not;

In all your ways be mindful of him, and he will make straight your paths.

Be not wise in your own eyes, fear the LORD and turn away from evil;" Proverbs 3: 5-7

Proverbs goes on to describe the ways in which trusting the Lord will benefit the lives of each and everyone of his followers. Be thankful for the gifts that God has given you. He has blessed everyone with the greatest gift of all. The sacrifice of his own son for the forgiveness of our sins. Allow God to help you piece together the puzzles of your life and prosper.

"For the leader; with stringed instruments. Life is often times a storm. A storm that will ravage through out us, but we are left to stand ground. The wind will come and push us as far as we can be pushed. We are like the trees of a storm. The wind will blow greatly against them until they are forced to break. They break out of fear. They break out of incompetence. They break because that is the easiest. It is the most simple to break away and fall back into the darkness. It is easy to give up, but not easy to stand and hold on. It's not always easy to be bent in a situation, but God helps us through our struggle. As we go to God, he pushes the storm away and relieves the pressure on base. We may have lost a few branches, but God has blessed us by allowing us not to break. God will regrow the branches lost. God will replenish your beautiful leaves. God takes care of his children.

"I will never forsake you or abandon you." Hebrew 13:5

When the storm of life is shaking us, God is there. When our leaves our stripped from our branches, God is there. When our trunks are on the verge of breaking under pressure, God is there. When we call upon him, God is there. God is always there for his people if you will just come to him for your help.

"For the sake of his own great name the LORD will not abandon his people, since the LORD himself chose to make you his people." 1 Samuel 12:22
Never to be abandoned. Never to be forsaken. God will always be there for his children. He will always help in a way that is sometimes misunderstood to people. God works in mysterious ways if you allow him to reach you.
"To the one who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you unblemished and exultant, in the presence of his glory,to the only God, our savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord be glory, majesty, power, and authority from ages past, now, and for ages to come. Amen." Jude 1:24-25

I title this segment "The Calm Before The Storm" due to the fact that life may be calm before a rough setting, but through the power of the Holy Trinity we are able to maintain our status through the rough times. We may be shaken up a bit, but use the time before the storm to be faithful to the Lord. Do not ask for the help of God only when you need it.Remember all that God has done for you. The storm will pass as it always does and look to God to pick up the pieces. Appreciate God. Worship God. Walk with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.
Blogging Fusion Blog Directory

The Failing Defense

A person without self-control is like a city with broken-down walls
Proverbs 25:28
The break down of a person roots from the habits that the person implements. The habits are hardly what causes problems for the people, but instead it is excess of the habits. Self control breaks down the barriers of a person making them vulnerable. Self control can be practiced and maintained through the help of Jesus Christ. A person has to learn to practice the meaning of too much excess causing damage to the person and to society.

So think clearly and exercise self-control. Look forward to the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world.
1 Peter 1:13

Lack of self control leaves a person to live for very little. Having the ability to stop enables the person to be able to effectively have power over him/herself. It is easily obtained through the power of Christ.

He will die for lack of self-control;he will be lost because of his great foolishness.
Proverbs 5:23

Blogging Fusion Blog Directory

Living Life Selfless

Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me.
     Matthew 16:24
Self can be personally defined in any way which you would personally define it. Some people have the view of their self higher than that of others. Others are less significant than you. This is the concept behind being selfish. Everyone is able to show signs of selfishness in aspects of life. We have to be able to relinquish our selfish selves in order to be better aspects of society. As Christ has said, you must leave selfishness away to become a follower of him. Christ can help you to become less of a selfish person and better help others. Through Christ, I have been able to relinquish my selfish feelings and care not to be cared for, help not to be helped, and love not to be loved. Christ has changed me to better help society.

My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. I have left behind my selfish days. Christ has moved me into the light of selflessness.

Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Helping people is the greatest gift that I can give myself. I give not to receive, and I hope all of you remember that about me and will be willing to come to me for help so that through Christ together we can work through the difficulty.

Blogging Fusion Blog Directory

Your Own Path

Each person is his or her person. Each person has their own path to take. This path is best forged by yourself. The easy path is following in the footsteps of another person. Matching each step of theirs with a step of your own. Following every move, every breath. The best path is to make your own path. Keep individuality and forge your own path. If you seem to be following in someone's footsteps, then do something. Show them that you are your own person and not some mindless follower. A follower, not an individual, does not flourish as well in life. Lead your own path do not follow in the shadow of someone else.
Blogging Fusion Blog Directory

Fake

Today, I stumbled upon a basket full of luscious fruit. Upon approaching the basket, I determined that the fruit was all plastic as part of an ingenious plan to draw me into it. I quickly grabbed one of the false fruits to examine it more thoroughly. I discovered an alarming fact about the illegitimate fruit. It was not only fake, but also more expensive than real fruit. Puzzled, I began to question why this could ever happen. It may have take a considerable amount of time and thought to fully understand the meaning of all of this. I was puzzled, but then it hit me like a train. We now live in a world that is so based on being fake that we can hardly appreciate what is real. We search for something that is fake more than something that is real. We search for a significant other who looks very great from the outside with little imperfections, but has nothing on the inside. The inside is a empty as the fake fruit I observed. sad, sad, sad...
Blogging Fusion Blog Directory

Beautiful

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Unfortunately, the beholder usually sees beauty only through the physical outward appearance of an individual. This idea of "beauty" is skewed. Now, I may argue this concept without complete clarification. I cannot say that I do not see a woman and argue the fact that she is indeed very attractive, but there is a fine line between attractiveness and beauty. Many people are unable to see the distinction despite clear evidence. Attractiveness is the most often sought after trait in a significant other. A trophy wife as one may call it, but how far will that really get you. Yes, she is extremely attractive. She will always be a great person to look at, but if she is solely attractive, the relationship will not flourish. A truly beautiful person will always make the best significant other. If dating troubles follow you, ask not why this always happens, but instead search more deeply into the problems stemming from your selection. Do not pass on the person who will love you with all their heart because they are not the most attractive. Further your selection to prosper......
Blogging Fusion Blog Directory

My Purpose

A cause or purpose is often difficult to see. My one purpose in writing anything is not to rant, not to insult, or any negative reason. My main purpose in typing anything is to hopefully help one person.
