Believe in the Power of Christ

"And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it." Matthew 16:18

Upon this rock, I build this church and it will never fail. The power of Christ and the Church will never falter. I personally believe in one church. One universal church. I wish we were no longer, Catholics, Protestants, Orthodox,but instead Christians who all followed the same church. The concept behind one church can be derived from this passage as Jesus built his Church through Peter. There are four marks of the Church established by Jesus Christ. These include unity, sanctity, catholicism, and apostolicity. This is often stated through the Nicene Creed as "one holy catholic and apostolic.

"I have other sheep ⁷ that do not belong to this fold. These also I must lead, and they will hear my voice, and there will be one flock, one shepherd." John 10:16

This is Jesus defining one. One God, one church. Just as the sheep need one Shepard there is to be one church.
