Living Life Selfless

Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me.
Matthew 16:24
Self can be personally defined in any way which you would personally define it. Some people have the view of their self higher than that of others. Others are less significant than you. This is the concept behind being selfish. Everyone is able to show signs of selfishness in aspects of life. We have to be able to relinquish our selfish selves in order to be better aspects of society. As Christ has said, you must leave selfishness away to become a follower of him. Christ can help you to become less of a selfish person and better help others. Through Christ, I have been able to relinquish my selfish feelings and care not to be cared for, help not to be helped, and love not to be loved. Christ has changed me to better help society.
My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Galatians 2:20
I have left my old self to better live for Christ. I have left behind my selfish days. Christ has moved me into the light of selflessness.
Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.
Philippians 2:3
Through Christ, I have been able to better help others by not requesting anything in return of others. Helping people is the greatest gift that I can give myself. I give not to receive, and I hope all of you remember that about me and will be willing to come to me for help so that through Christ together we can work through the difficulty.
